Tips to Stay Productive

As you and your team prepare to work from home, SIAA has provided these tips for a healthy, happy, and functional home work environment.

• Set Regular Office Hours
  Advertise your office hours and stick to them. Routinely start your day early. This will get you ahead of schedule. 
  
  
• Find a Quiet and Proper Work Environment
  Make sure to run updates on any tablets, computers, etc. that you may be using during your time at home.  Also keep chargers and extra batteries ready to go at all times. Make sure your workspace is conducive to working.
  
  
• Take Breaks
  It's really easy to forget. Make sure you get up and grab some coffee or snack to stay mentally sharp.  Stretch and move around to remain physically sharp.  Make sure to plan for lunch as well. 

• Communication
  Always be in constant communication and establish a 'communication routine'. Incorporate team tools like Slack or Microsoft teams. Do NOT remain radio silent.

• Plan for Meetings
  Make sure to show up to your virtual meetings early to check audio and video connectivity. Do your best to pretend to be "physically" present. Avoid distractions.

• Have a Backup Plan
  Make sure you have a backup plan in case you lose internet connection, your computer crashes, you lose connectivity to company servers, etc.

OAA Response to COVID-19

OAA has taken immediate action in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 or Coronavirus.  As of March 16th, OAA and its staff have moved to a remote work scenario.  Business will continue as usual for you, our members.  Visit the link below for up-to-date info as we move forward.

A Message from Tony Caldwell

Dear Members and Insurance Company Partners,

One Agents Alliance (OAA) is closing its offices effective at noon CDT March 16th, 2020. We do not take this action lightly or without a great deal of careful thought. Some may think we are premature; others may not see the need for this action. However, given the careful study of the virus’ progression around the world, it is clear that the only effective means of preventing its spread is personal isolation. While the civil authorities have not yet announced mandatory quarantining for anyone (they very well may soon) they are unanimous in calling for employees to work from home if they are able to. We are able to and are responding to that call.

We are not suspending our operations. We will, however, be working remotely from our homes to ensure that your agency can continue to operate uninterrupted.

Finally, please accept our entire team’s best wishes for you and your employees during this trying time. No one knows how long it will last or what the ultimate impacts will be. But regardless of what they are, we care for you and we want to do what we can to be helpful.
